Malta Dairy Products Wins Court Case for Outstanding Payments
A recent court ruling in Malta has mandated that S&E Limited must compensate Malta Dairy Products Limited with a sum of €87,596.10. This amount pertains to unpaid invoices for dairy products supplied over several years. Despite repeated requests for payment, S&E Limited had accumulated a substantial debt, prompting legal action by Malta Dairy Products.
On March 12, 2025, during a court session, Edgar Buttiġieġ, a director of S&E Limited, acknowledged the company’s lack of contestation regarding the claim. The case was presided over by Judge Miriam Hayman, who emphasized that a default by the defendant does not guarantee a win for the claimant unless sufficient proof is provided.
In this case, the court deemed the evidence presented by Malta Dairy Products as clear and credible. Consequently, the court's decision included not only the payment of outstanding invoices but also an interest of 8% from the date of each invoice until full payment is made. Additionally, S&E Limited was ordered to cover all court-related costs, including those associated with a precautionary warrant filed with the claim.
