Major Dairy Plant in Ivanovka to Boost Ismayilli Agricultural Sector
A new dairy processing plant is being constructed in Ivanovka, a village in the Ismayilli District of Azerbaijan. This facility represents a significant investment of 10 million manats ($5.9 million) and aims to enhance the district's agricultural sector by modernizing its dairy production.
The plant, once operational, will produce a variety of dairy products including butter, cream, cottage cheese, and both European-style and traditional cheeses. This development is part of the district's broader efforts to expand its agricultural capabilities and improve local food security. Officials have stated that the facility will adhere to modern production standards and is expected to produce thousands of tonnes of competitive dairy products annually.
Ismayilli District Executive Authority Head Nahid Baghirov emphasized the importance of leveraging the region's natural resources to achieve strategic agricultural goals. The district has seen notable achievements in agriculture, with strong sectors in grain production, livestock farming, beekeeping, horticulture, and vegetable cultivation.
The Ivanovka Agropark, noted for its advanced agricultural practices, supports these sectors by introducing innovative irrigation technologies and sustainable feed bases for livestock. The agropark is considered a leading example of modern agricultural development in Azerbaijan.
In 2025, farmers in Ismayilli harvested 96,000 tonnes of grain from 31,000 hectares, with efforts to increase intensive orchard farming and vegetable production. Water security and modern irrigation infrastructure remain crucial for sustaining agricultural productivity in the region.
The development of the dairy plant aligns with Azerbaijan's 2026–2030 State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Production and Processing. This initiative aims to boost agricultural productivity, strengthen food security, and support sustainable rural development across the nation.
