Müller Launches Fast Track Program to Cut Carbon Emissions by 30% by 2030

Müller UK & Ireland has announced the launch of Fast Track, a breakthrough program designed to decrease carbon emissions from supplying farms by implementing real-time data analysis across the UK. In collaboration with Kite Consulting and 40 participating farms, the initiative forms an integral part of Müller’s Sustainability Action Plan, which ambitiously targets a 30% reduction in on-farm emissions by 2030.
The Fast Track program will span three years, during which 40 farmers from across Britain will be equipped to employ new methods of monitoring essential data related to production efficiency and sustainability. This will aid in making informed decisions and facilitate quick actions necessary to achieve the emission reduction goals.
Traditionally, British farms rely on annual reports that review the previous year’s emission data. However, the Fast Track program will empower farmers with real-time data access, significantly enhancing the frequency and timeliness of monitoring pivotal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Emphasizing data integration, the program will utilize platforms like Feedlync, a cloud-based feed management system, to scrutinize four critical areas: feed efficiency, fertility, stock numbers, and energy-corrected milk.
Rob Hutchison, chief executive of Müller Milk & Ingredients, stated, “We recognize on-farm emissions as a crucial hotspot within our carbon footprint. The Fast Track program provides an opportunity to make a tangible difference and is vital in helping us achieve our 30% reduction goal by 2030.”
This innovative program underscores Müller’s dedication to partnering with farmers to foster a sustainable dairy future, complementing existing initiatives like the Müller Advantage and Next Generation programs.
