Müller and Myprotein launch expanded high-protein yoghurt range
Müller UK & Ireland and Myprotein have extended their partnership with a new range of single-serve protein yogurts. The companies said the products were developed for consumers seeking a convenient food that combines a high protein content with taste.
The line consists of Vanilla, Strawberry and Blueberry varieties. Each pot weighs 210g and provides 20g of protein. The products have a smooth and creamy texture, according to the companies, and are being sold through major retailers.
The recommended retail price is £1.50, equivalent to €1.79. The yogurts are available to shoppers now. No sales volumes or production figures were provided by the companies.
The launch forms part of Müller and Myprotein’s work in the protein category. The companies said protein was growing at 2.5 times the rate of the total category year on year, while demand was increasing for food and drinks that provide both protein and flavour.
Richard Williams, chief executive of Müller Yogurt & Desserts, said protein was becoming more important in consumers’ everyday food choices. He said shoppers wanted products that combined nutrition and taste, and that the partnership brought together Müller’s dairy expertise with Myprotein’s performance-nutrition credentials.
Williams said the new range was intended to give consumers a high-protein snack that could be eaten at different times and in different settings. The companies described the products as an expansion of their existing partnership; they did not disclose the terms of that partnership or identify further planned products.
