Müller Expands Milk Powder Production with Acquisition of Yew Tree Dairy
Yew Tree Dairy is known for its expertise in the production of fresh milk, cream, and milk powder. By integrating Yew Tree’s manufacturing processes, Müller aims to strengthen its supply chain and expand its footprint in the global market. “This acquisition marks a significant investment in the British dairy sector and showcases our commitment to the growth of Müller and the broader industry," said Rob Hutchison, CEO of Müller Milk & Ingredients.

The completion of the transaction is contingent upon approval from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority. Post-approval, Müller has plans to significantly upgrade the milk drying facilities at Yew Tree, aiming to transform the site into a leading producer and exporter of British-made powdered milk products.

The company emphasized the strategic nature of this acquisition, highlighting its potential to enhance service to customers, provide value to consumers, and offer better support to British dairy farmers. “Integrating Yew Tree’s operations will not only improve our product offerings but also reinforce the resilience of the British dairy industry,” Müller stated.

Carl Woodcock of Yew Tree Dairy commented on the acquisition, noting the importance of aligning with a company that shares their values and vision for the future of the British dairy sector. “Müller emerged as the best choice through a competitive selection process, and we are confident that our business is in excellent hands,” he said.

This acquisition is expected to create a robust platform for Müller to expand its production capabilities and solidify its position as a key player in the dairy industry, both domestically and internationally.
