Little Town Dairy Expands Production with New Filltech Machinery
Little Town Dairy, a UK-based producer of cultured milk products, has announced the expansion of its production capabilities with the acquisition of a new four-lane filling and sealing machine from Filltech. This decision comes seven years after the installation of their first rotary Filltech machine, which has played a crucial role in the dairy's operations.
The dairy produces a diverse range of products, including yogurts, buttermilk, soured cream, and crème fraîche, using traditional methods and milk sourced from their own herd. Operated by the third generation of its founding family, Little Town Dairy focuses on sustainable practices and award-winning quality.
Since installing the first Filltech unit in 2019, the machine has operated consistently without significant stoppage, achieving over 5,000 pots per hour, exceeding initial targets. Alison Moulding, site manager and owner, praised the machine's performance, highlighting its efficiency and reliability.
The new machine is identical to the first but configured to work in tandem, providing a left and right operation setup, which was custom-built by Filltech to meet the dairy's specific requirements. The integration of the two machines, along with a conveyor system, is expected to enhance production capacity significantly.
Little Town Dairy's choice to continue with Filltech was influenced by the supplier's willingness to tailor solutions rather than offering standard off-the-shelf products. This partnership is seen as a continuation of their commitment to bespoke product offerings and reliable service.
