Lianozovo Dairy Plant saves around 167 million rubles annually through productivity improvements

The plant in northern Moscow is featured in the latest episode of the “Russia's Dairy Plants” project, published on Milknews channels. Packaging Systems is the project's partner. The facility operates 33 production lines and employs more than 1,500 people.

The plant makes products under the Chudo, Agusha and Domik v Derevne brands. Its range includes milk and fresh curd products, as well as baby food: formula, cereals and juices.

For raw milk intake, the plant uses a station that mechanically agitates the milk in tanker trucks. This reduces the time needed to determine quality parameters to a few minutes and allows the plant to receive an additional nine trucks per day. Production schedules are organized around larger batches and continuous use of production lines to minimize downtime.

After washing and sterilization, conveyors are actively dried using compressed air. This allows production to continue without waiting for the equipment to dry naturally. The Smart SIB system manages the washing, displacement and equipment startup cycles.

The plant also reuses cleaning solutions: these are collected and then allowed to settle or purified. Water heated during compressor cooling is used together with steam condensate for general plant needs.

According to the company, improving efficiency begins with identifying losses. Some can be eliminated quickly without additional expenditure; others require investment and sustained work. Both types of measures are included in the annual improvement plan. The plant's specialists recommend that other dairy processors compare their performance with that of leading companies in the industry, using best-in-class benchmarking.
