China Mengniu Dairy Company Limited and its subsidiaries, collectively referred to as "Mengniu," proudly unveiled the dairy industry's inaugural Nature-related Information Disclosure Report ("TNFD Report") in honor of Earth Day.

his pioneering report showcases Mengniu's dedication to managing nature-related risks across its production processes and supply chain while championing transparency in corporate governance.
Aligned with international standards and recommendations, including those of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Mengniu's TNFD Report also integrates principles from the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. Offering a comprehensive view of Mengniu's environmental footprint, the report delves into the company's symbiotic relationship with nature, identifying risks and opportunities and detailing strategies for resilience and sustainable growth.
Employing a rigorous analysis framework comprising governance, strategy, risk and impact management, and metrics and targets, Mengniu evaluated 68 of its factories and extended its assessment upstream to include pastures, crucial for sourcing raw milk. By identifying potential risks and impacts on biodiversity, the company gains vital insights for informed decision-making across governance, strategy, risk management, and capital allocation.
At the heart of Mengniu's approach lies its "GREEN" sustainable development strategy, focusing on "Environment-Carbon Net-Zero" and "Collaborative & Accountable Ecosystem" pillars. With ambitious targets set for achieving carbon neutrality and zero deforestation, Mengniu has already made strides in ecological farm construction, green procurement, and sustainable production practices, earning recognition from global entities such as the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the China Dairy Industry Association.
Through the TNFD Report, Mengniu underscores its commitment to stakeholders, presenting achievements and future plans to mitigate environmental impact and promote sustainability. By enhancing transparency and fostering collaboration, Mengniu aims to lead the charge in global biodiversity governance and sustainable development, leveraging its expertise to drive positive change.
