Farmers in Co. Down have emerged as the top recipients of milk payments from Lakeland Dairies, receiving a total of €115.9 million in 2023, according to the latest financial results released by the co-op.
The figures reveal that Lakeland Dairies distributed nearly €800 million to farm families across 17 counties in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. This substantial payout reflects the significant role of dairy farming within rural communities.
