Lactalis, the multinational dairy company, has made a significant investment of €8.86 million in its two plants located in Villarrobledo (Albacete) and Marchamalo (Guadalajara), Spain.

This investment has generated 889 direct jobs and involves collecting more than 26 million liters of milk from 83 municipalities. The facility upgrades include the addition of new photovoltaic installations that supply between 10% and 23% of the plants' electrical consumption, contributing to the company's sustainability goals. In Villarrobledo, one of Spain's largest cheese production sites, renowned brands like El Ventero, Don Bernardo, and Gran Capitán are produced with a workforce of 335 employees.

Meanwhile, the Marchamalo plant, a joint venture between Lactalis and Nestlé, employs 554 people and focuses on the production of yogurts, desserts, and refrigerated logistics. The solar energy installations deliver 23% of the electricity in Villarrobledo and 10% in Marchamalo, demonstrating Lactalis's commitment to industrial decarbonization. The company highlights that most employment contracts are permanent, with a turnover rate below 2.1%, indicating strong ties to the local community.
