Lácteos Vidal Cleared in Legal Dispute Over Worker Dismissal
In a significant legal closure for Lácteos Vidal, the Appeals Chamber in Criminal and Correctional Matters confirmed the acquittal of the company directors on charges prompted by the Atilra union for alleged judicial disobedience, thus ending the court case.

The dispute began when Judge José Ignacio Ramonet ordered the reinstatement of dismissed workers after a blockade at the Moctezuma factory nearly three years ago. The plant management argued the order was infeasible due to a 'loss of trust' in the affected employees. Although fiscal authorities argued against prosecution, citing a lack of personal notification to the president of the firm, the union’s appeals were overthrown and the deposed charges officially ratified by the Appeals Chamber.

The factory had dismissed 26 workers, negotiating individual arrangements over time, yet eight employees remain legally enmeshed. The fiscal court proposed fines of $10,000 per day for each non-reinstated worker starting July 2022. Alejandra Bada Vázquez, one of Lácteos Vidal's owners, vocalized that the alleged judicial defiance, associated blockages, and legal pursuits represented significant strains on their operations and called for judicial reforms to support entrepreneurial ventures free of union hindrance.
