Kyrgyzstan to Purchase 4.5 Million Doses of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Vaccine from Russia for Large-Scale Livestock Immunization
The delivery will be carried out in stages: the first batch of 1 million doses is expected shortly, with an additional 3.5 million doses planned for delivery by the end of the summer. The vaccination will cover livestock across the entire country.
The purchase takes place against the backdrop of a working visit by a Kyrgyz delegation to Russia, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Erlis Akunbekov, and meetings with Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut and the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert.
The parties discussed the expansion of Kyrgyz products — from meat and dairy to processed and fish products — into the Russian market. The discussions also covered the increase of pedigree livestock imports from Russia and the launch of joint scientific and veterinary projects, including vaccine supplies and specialist training. Additionally, during the negotiations, the parties discussed the current epizootic situation in the region and measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases among animals.
