The initiator of the project was Deputy Akylbek Tumonbayev.

The accompanying certificate notes that there is an acute problem of reducing the purchase prices for milk from domestic producers.

"The problem of reducing milk purchase prices with the onset of the spring season appears annually. And at this time, with the advent of green feeds, dairy processing plants are reducing purchase prices, causing discontent among agricultural producers. The decrease in the cost of milk is also influenced by the behavior of unscrupulous buyers and there are risks of price collusion when purchasing milk from the population," the document says.
The data indicate that without taking adequate measures to support the domestic milk producer, Kyrgyzstan will face unfavorable prospects in the development of its milk production.

In order to preserve and further develop domestic milk production, as well as support agricultural milk producers, a draft law "On the regulation of milk purchase prices" is being introduced. This law will apply to relations related to the purchase of milk from agricultural producers, as well as to individuals and legal entities, state bodies and local governments of Kyrgyzstan.
