Kyrgyzstan Boosts Dairy Exports to EAEU Countries

Kyrgyzstan has significantly increased its dairy exports to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries, with more than 33,000 tons of milk and dairy products exported in 2024.
Kyrgyzstan Boosts Dairy Exports to EAEU Countries

Kyrgyzstan has marked a significant milestone in its agricultural sector by increasing its dairy exports to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries. According to a report by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, Kyrgyzstan exported a total of 33,374.7 tons of milk and dairy products in 2024. This figure is an increase of 3,164.5 tons compared to the same period in 2023.

Export Details

The breakdown of the dairy exports is as follows:

  • Cheese: 1,451.6 tons
  • Shoro drink: 120.8 tons
  • Kurut: 3.3 tons
  • Butter: 1,881.8 tons
  • Ice cream: 4,480.1 tons
  • Cream: 660.8 tons
  • Milk powder: 1,212.4 tons
  • Pasteurized milk: 124 tons

This growth in exports is attributed to increased demand and improved agricultural policies.

Support from USAID

Additionally, the USAID has played a crucial role in bolstering Kyrgyzstan's dairy industry. Over the past four years, USAID has provided substantial support to 17 dairy enterprises in southern Kyrgyzstan. This initiative has positively affected more than 4,200 households, resulting in the creation of over 3,500 new jobs. Moreover, sales have surged by 124 percent, while exports have grown by an impressive 167 percent.
