Kumar Aksakalov spoke about plans to export mare's milk powder to Germany

“Dry saumal is a unique type of dairy product made from mare’s milk, which we began to produce in the Kostanay region. The capacity of the launched S-Agro-Borovskoe LLP farm is 40 tons of dry milk per year. With its introduction, a new unique type of product appeared in the region , which will not lose its qualities during long-term storage. Thanks to new modern technologies, we can not only preserve the heritage of our ancestors, but also bring it to a new international level. In addition, there is an agreement to export these products to Germany. Powdered milk will be close in quality to the useful indicators of saumal,” noted Kumar Aksakalov.

The next project is the construction of a new complex for the production of 10 new types of cheese with the involvement of a well-known German manufacturer. This will increase production capacity and ensure an increase in cheese production volumes by 1.5 times in the region, reducing import dependence. The cost of the project is 7.2 billion tenge, capacity is 2 thousand tons of products per year. With the launch of the new plant, it is planned to increase the share of processed milk in the region from 46 to 60 percent.

Maintaining a strong image as the “sweetest” region of Kazakhstan, the Kostanay region will begin construction of a confectionery factory as part of an existing factory in 2024. The expanded factory will create 260 jobs and dramatically increase production capacity to 17 thousand tons of new confectionery products per year. The volume of investments will amount to 13.8 billion tenge.

Answering questions from journalists, the head of the region noted that following the results of 10 months, the Kostanay region took 1st place in Kazakhstan in food production.
