Kiwigarden has issued a recall for all batches of its dairy-free yogurt drops after traces of milk were found in a second batch during recent testing. This move follows last week's recall by New Zealand Food Safety, prompted by a choking incident involving the snack.

Johnny Wiggins, the general manager of Kiwigarden, stated that production is suspended indefinitely as a precautionary measure. The latest round of testing revealed the presence of milk and casein, a milk protein, in a second batch.

Despite the extremely small amounts detected, Wiggins emphasized the need for caution, especially considering that the product is intended for babies and toddlers. The recalled products include Kiwigarden Coconut Vanilla Dairy Free Yoghurt Drops in 50g, 10g, and 14g sizes. No other Kiwigarden products are affected.

While there have been no consumer complaints or reported adverse health effects, Kiwigarden is committed to swiftly removing the product from the market and home pantries. The company has notified the Ministry for Primary Industries about the latest findings and expresses regret for the presence of dairy in a product labeled as dairy-free.
