Kerry Dairy Ireland Sets New Milk Price for January Supplies

Kerry Dairy Ireland has confirmed the price it will offer to its suppliers for milk delivered in January 2025. The announcement was made on Monday, February 17, and marks another increase in payment to suppliers, affirming the upward trend observed over the last few months.

The processor stated that the milk price for January stands at 53.5 cents per liter, inclusive of VAT. This figure includes a base-price top-up of 3 cents, again inclusive of VAT and quality bonuses. This increment follows the previous month's price of 50 cents in December, 49.5 cents in November, and 48.5 cents in October.

Moreover, at EU standard constituents of 3.4% protein and 4.2% butterfat, the processed milk is priced at 58.5 cents per liter, VAT included.

In contrast, while Lakeland Dairies has retained its base price of 49.75 cents per liter, a slight adjustment has been made due to a shift in the VAT rate to 5.1%. This adjustment means the inclusive price now stands at 49.75 cents compared to 49.6 cents in December.

Meanwhile, the global market outlook appears favorable as the potential threat of a foot and mouth disease outbreak diminishes in Europe, thus providing supportive price conditions ahead of peak production months.
