Kazakhstan Imports 148 Danish Red Cattle

A batch of 148 heifers of the Danish Red breed arrived from the Kingdom of Denmark at the veterinary control post of Aktobe International Airport. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

Before shipment, the animals were in a 21-day quarantine. The procedure was conducted in accordance with the veterinary and sanitary requirements of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Currently, specialists are checking the accompanying veterinary documents. After this, a physical inspection of each animal will take place: veterinarians will assess the health of the animals, verify identification numbers, and check the compliance of documents with established requirements.

If the control results are positive, the cattle will be sent to the "Arystanov" farming enterprise in the Baiterek district of the West Kazakhstan region. The farm purchased the batch to renew the genetic pool of the local herd.

According to the source, the Danish Red breed is a highly productive dairy breed. Introducing these animals is expected to allow the enterprise to increase milk yields with high fat content and establish its own breeding reproductor. It will supply young stock to neighboring districts of the region.

The estimated cost of the batch is about $300,000. The calculation is based on data from open sources, according to which one head of elite breeding Danish Red cattle costs approximately $2,000–$2,500; the estimate of $300,000 corresponds to the lower end of this range for 148 animals.
