Kazakhstan and UAE Agree to Harmonize Export Requirements

Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to continue working on veterinary requirements and certificates related to the supply of Kazakhstani animal products. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

The issues of document harmonization were discussed at a working meeting between representatives of the Veterinary Control Committee of Kazakhstan and a delegation from the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. The agenda also included the expansion of trade in livestock products between the two countries.

Export Documents

The meeting participants reviewed draft veterinary certificates to be applied when exporting animals and animal products from Kazakhstan to the UAE. The competent authorities examined documents previously sent by the Kazakhstani side and exchanged proposals for their further harmonization.

The parties agreed to continue the harmonization of veterinary requirements. In addition, they intend to agree on certificates and determine practical steps necessary to increase bilateral trade in livestock products.

Sports Horses and Veterinary Control

A separate topic was the veterinary support for the export of sports horses. The meeting materials also considered the general conditions under which animals and animal products can be supplied from Kazakhstan to the UAE market.

As part of the working program, representatives of the UAE veterinary service visited several farms in Kazakhstan. During the visits, they became acquainted with the conditions for keeping animals, the organization of veterinary services, the livestock identification system, and biosecurity measures.
