Kazakhstan is preparing to resume exports of livestock products to China

According to Aidarbek Saparov, both countries have unlimited potential for the development of trade cooperation, especially in trade in agricultural products.
“The head of the Ministry of Agriculture also noted the great potential of the republic in the supply of chilled beef and pork to China in addition to frozen meat, poultry products and live cattle, as well as oilseeds and grain crops. This contributes to a significant increase in the volume of trade between the countries. For this, the Ministry of Agriculture continues to actively "work to ensure the well-being of the country's territory in terms of especially dangerous diseases of animals and birds. Therefore, the Chinese side was offered to start exporting meat from free zones," the department said in a statement.
Yu Jianhua told Aidarbek Saparov about the final stage of risk assessment and lifting of restrictions to resume supplies of Kazakh beef, pork and poultry. The visit of specialists from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China is planned for December 2023.
Based on the results of the assessment of the veterinary service of Kazakhstan, the Chinese side is ready to consider the possibility of lifting existing restrictions and move to resuming the export of livestock products to China.
The department's press service reports that over the 10 months of 2023, the volume of mutual trade in the agricultural sector between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China increased by 70% and exceeded $1 billion. Exports amounted to $811.1 million, imports – $197.4 million.
