Kaushiki Mahila Milk Producer Company recorded turnover of ₹145.01 crore in the 2025–26 financial year. The Bihar-based women-led dairy company had 49,344 members by August 2026 and was collecting more than 92,000 kilograms of milk a day.

Kaushiki Mahila Milk Producer Company Limited, a women-led dairy enterprise based in Bihar, reported turnover of ₹145.01 crore for the financial year 2025–26. The company was established in Saharsa in September 2017 and began commercial operations the following month.

Its membership increased from 16,656 women in 2019–20 to 49,344 by August 2026. Kaushiki initially operated in Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura before extending its activities to Khagaria and Munger. Its work includes milk procurement, market access, producer payments and technical services for members.

Procurement network expands

Average daily milk procurement rose from 11,436 kilograms in 2019–20 to 94,180 kilograms. The company reported average collection of 92,218 kilograms a day as of August 2026. Its network covered 53 blocks in five districts and included 17 bulk milk coolers and 1,192 active procurement points.

Women members had supplied a cumulative 13.96 crore kilograms of milk. The company’s capital was approximately ₹479 lakh. Bihar JEEVIKA provided financial support, while NDDB Dairy Services supplied technical guidance.

Turnover and producer payments

Kaushiki’s turnover was ₹16.54 crore in 2019–20, compared with ₹145.01 crore in 2025–26. During the first five months of the 2026–27 financial year, through August 2026, it recorded turnover of ₹74.81 crore.

Payments to milk producers increased from ₹14.38 crore in 2019–20 to ₹113.10 crore in 2025–26. The company’s operating model is based on regular procurement from members at competitive prices, alongside services intended to support milk production and livestock management.

Livestock services

Beyond collecting and marketing milk, Kaushiki provides artificial insemination, cattle feed, mineral mixtures and green fodder. By August 2026, it had facilitated 1.97 lakh artificial inseminations and supplied 7,375 metric tonnes of cattle feed, 129 metric tonnes of mineral mixture and 139 metric tonnes of green fodder.

These activities form part of the company’s stated mission to combine milk procurement with breed-improvement and technical services. Bihar’s Rural Development and Information and Public Relations Minister, Shravan Kumar, described Kaushiki as an example of women’s empowerment and collective entrepreneurship.
