The Honourable Heath MacDonald, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, announced the reappointment of Jennifer Hayes as Chairperson of the Canadian Dairy Commission, continuing her leadership for another 4-year term starting December 23, 2025. Ms. Hayes, who first joined as a Commissioner in 2017 and became the first woman Chairperson in 2021, is known for her expertise in dairy farming and governance. She co-owns PineCrest Farms in Quebec and holds an MBA from Concordia University. Minister MacDonald praised her continuing vital role in keeping the domestic dairy industry competitive and innovative. Canada’s dairy sector, consisting of over 9,200 farms and supporting 45,000 jobs, remains a crucial part of the economy and rural communities.
