James Brayley and Anna Collins have secured their first farm tenancy on a county council holding. The pair are developing the dairy business under a 20-year agreement.
Brayley became a tenant farmer at 28, having entered agriculture without a family farming background.
He grew up in mid-Devon and worked as a relief milker during his teenage years before taking on a farm of his own.
The pair started their tenancy amid fluctuations in the dairy market.
Their work includes seeking to make the most of their milk contract.
An integrated calf scheme also provides income for the business alongside its milk production.
