Effective May 1, consumers in Israel will witness a 4.48% increase in the prices of price-controlled dairy products, as declared by the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry on Monday.

This hike will notably impact the pricing of various dairy essentials. For instance, the cost of a liter of bagged 3% milk will climb from NIS 5.94 to NIS 6.21, while a carton of 1% milk will see an uptick from NIS 6.41 to NIS 6.7. Furthermore, 200 ml of sour cream will escalate from NIS 2.63 to NIS 2.75, and 250 ml of 38% fat sweet cream will rise from NIS 7.07 to NIS 7.39. Additionally, the price of 28% fat cheese will elevate from NIS 48.95 per kg to NIS 51.14 per kg.
This increase follows an automated mechanism for price adjustments linked to the consumer price index, the wage index, and the raw milk price. Notably, this system operates autonomously, devoid of ministerial intervention, with evaluations conducted every half-year to year.
