Investment in CWP-80 Production Estimated at €7–11 Million

The project involves processing milk whey using ultrafiltration, diafiltration, and subsequent drying. The final product is the powder concentrate CWP-80, primarily targeting the sports nutrition ingredients market.

According to the company's calculations, the implementation period for such a project is between 15 and 22 months, with a payback period ranging from four to seven years. The estimated cost of the finished concentrate was presented as $3.5–5 thousand per ton.

The size of the investment largely depends on the chosen drying technology. The project's economics are also influenced by the available volume of whey, its protein content, the production line load, and the prices of finished ingredients.

It was noted during the presentation that the production of basic dry whey remains a low-margin segment with high competition. Therefore, companies are considering more advanced separation of dairy raw materials and the production of specialized protein components.

Whey protein concentrates are used in the production of sports, infant, and medical nutrition. Dairy proteins are also utilized in the confectionery and meat industries, feed production, dietary supplements, and cosmetic products.
