Benexia has introduced a groundbreaking product, Seeds of Wellness Chia Milk, a plant-based milk option made from whole chia seeds. This product, which recently appeared on Costco shelves, aims to set a new standard for sustainable milk alternatives.

According to Vegconomist Global, chia seeds are rich in healthy fats and dietary fiber, a nutrient often missing from the average American diet. Utilizing a micro-milling process, Benexia retains the plant's nutritional value and achieves a creamy consistency. Noteworthy is their commitment to regenerative agriculture techniques and utilization of rainwater for irrigation. The product's launch coincides with a growing trend in alternative milk consumption. In 2022, according to the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the revenue from alternative milks in North America constituted 20% of that from traditional milks, with 12% of American households favoring alternatives.

The University of North Carolina forecasts a 127% per capita increase in alternative milk revenue by 2027. Traditional dairy production is resource-intensive and contributes significantly to methane emissions, whereas chia milk offers an environmentally conscious alternative, conserving water and reducing waste. As chia milk gains popularity, it could significantly lessen environmental impact while promoting water security in a changing climate. With its debut in Costco, Benexia’s chia milk may lead the charge toward making chia a staple in sustainable milk alternatives.
