Imports of dairy products to Kazakhstan increased by 5%

In January-September 2024, Kazakhstan imported over 130 thousand tons of milk and dairy products, which is 5% more than the same period last year. The volume of procurement costs amounted to $288.1 million, while there is an increase in the supply of certain categories of products, as well as a decrease in others.
Cheese and cottage cheese: imports increased by 34.5% to 34.6 thousand tons worth $132.5 million. The main suppliers are: Russia: 14.5 thousand tons (+31.3%), Belarus: 10.6 thousand tons (+32.9%), Iran: 1.9 thousand tons (+15.6 times). A decrease in supplies was noted from Ukraine (-11.2%) and Lithuania (-7%).
Milk and cream: import growth amounted to 7.2% (25.3 thousand tons). The main suppliers are Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, France, Iran and Italy.
Yogurt and kefir: imports increased by 2.4% to 31.2 thousand tons. The increase in supplies from Turkey is especially noticeable (by 9.4 thousand times, up to 942.4 tons). The main volume continues to come from Russia (23.4 thousand tons, +7%) and Kyrgyzstan (-16%).
Butter: decrease by 23.3% (4.4 thousand tons). The main decrease was recorded from Belarus (-50%), but supplies from Iran and France doubled and increased by 10.2%, respectively.
Powdered and condensed milk: a decrease of 10.2% (25.8 thousand tons). The key suppliers were Russia, Belarus, France, Poland, Uruguay and New Zealand.
