Hidalgo Invests $1.1 Million in Agricultural Support for Tulancingo

The Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hidalgo (SADERH) has allocated a total of 1,187,162 pesos to support primary sector producers in the Tulancingo region. The aid was distributed among 884 producers from Tulancingo, Cuautepec de Hinojosa, Santiago Tulantepec, and other localities in the Valley of Tulancingo.

As part of the program 'Para Unificar el Campo Hidalguense', strategic agricultural inputs were provided, including barley seeds for 131 producers, corn seeds for 22, and tomato seeds for 31 beneficiaries. Additionally, 41 rural workers received maguey seedlings. The program also distributed three sets of agricultural tools, 17 forage mills for livestock feeding, and 65 aquaculture equipment packages.

In the framework of the Productive Program for Rural Women, 84 chicken coops and 325 dual-purpose poultry packages were delivered, each consisting of 14 hens and one rooster. This initiative aims to enhance food security and income diversification through small-scale poultry production in the community.

Napoleón González Pérez, head of the state department, highlighted Hidalgo's leading role in national production, particularly in malt barley production, continental aquaculture for fish meat, maguey cultivation, and sheep wool production. He emphasized that the distribution system operates directly without intermediaries, under the supervision of the State Comptroller's Office.

Lorena García Cázares, the municipal president of Tulancingo, reinforced the importance of the agricultural sector as a driver of the local economy. She committed to continuing the management of state and federal resources to boost productivity among small farmers and ranchers, addressing challenges such as climate change and operational costs.
