Goat Milk: Price Rises 6.6% Due to Reduced Production
The price of goat milk in Spain has experienced an annual increase of 6.6%, a trend driven by significant decreases in production and the number of farmers engaging in this sector. Data indicates that the average price received by Spanish farms has risen from 10.67 euros to 11.37 euros per hectogram between June 2024 and June 2025. This price increase is attributed to the notable 6.1% decline in goat milk production in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in the previous year. Moreover, the number of producers in the goat sector has also diminished, dropping from 4,031 to 3,737 farmers, which represents a decrease of 7.3%. The lower supply of goat milk, combined with constant demand, is the main factor behind the price rise.
