The price of coconut oil, widely used in the production of chocolate, ice cream, and other confectionery products, has reached record levels on the global market. According to the World Bank, in April 2025, the product was priced at $2,483 per ton, up 5.4% from March, when a ton of oil cost $2,356.
Prices have been rising for the third consecutive month: in February, the cost was $1,990 per ton, meaning coconut oil has increased in price by more than 24% since the beginning of spring. Analysts attribute the surge to supply shortages caused by unfavorable weather conditions in key producing countries such as the Philippines and Indonesia, as well as growing global demand from the food and cosmetics industries.
