FruBon's Rise: From Local Startup to ₹300 Crore Dairy Challenger
FruBon, founded by Rahul Verma, his brother Rohit, and their father DD Verma, has transformed into a significant player in India's dairy industry. Originally starting as Dev Milk Foods in 2004, the family rebranded to FruBon in 2015 to focus on high-quality dairy products. Operating from their facility at Mahindra World City, Jaipur, FruBon procures 90,000 liters of milk daily from over 9,000 farmer families.
The company maintains robust cold-chain management to ensure product quality, which has been crucial in increasing its market share in the organized ice cream sector from 2-3% to approximately 14% during the pandemic. FruBon's product line includes unique regional flavors and artisanal items, such as rose-gulkand ice cream and bilona-churned butter.
The startup has also embraced quick-commerce platforms, with monthly sales exceeding ₹8.5 crore. FruBon ended the last financial year with revenues surpassing ₹200 crore and is aiming for ₹300 crore this fiscal year.
FruBon's success is attributed to its strategic focus on cold-chain integrity, community engagement, and product innovation, enabling it to compete with established dairy giants in India's evolving market.
