Fonterra: Dairy Industry Restructuring Act’s competition provisions should undergo substantive review

Fonterra Co-operative Group has called for consideration of a modernised Dairy Industry Restructuring Act. The co-operative set out its position 25 years after its formation.
Fonterra said the time was right to undertake a substantive review of the act’s provisions intended to promote competition.
In its submission, chief executive Richard Allen said the legislation had been designed to evolve. The co-operative’s position emerged following the release of submissions.
