Following Fonterra’s groundbreaking announcement in August 2024 to inject $75 million into their Studholme site, the world awaits as the dairy giant moves forward to create a hub for high-value advanced proteins. The redevelopment of this South Island facility is progressing well, maintaining its target timeline and budget.

Construction Milestones Achieved

Key project advancements have been marked by the completion of the foundations and walls for the new processing building extension. Significant equipment for powder milling is slated for installation in February with subsequent efforts to weatherproof the building scheduled for April.

A Hub of Activity

Alan Maitland, Site Manager at Fonterra's Studholme facility, emphasizes the vibrancy on-site as the venture transitions through pivotal phases. Integral upgrades include a dryer safety enhancement, Powder Mill installation, and expansive work on tie-in connections utilizing steam, water, air, and high-pressure feed lines.
