Fonterra embarks on a series of investor roadshows, aiming to sell its consumer brand businesses while considering a public offering.
Fonterra Offers Mainland Group to Potential Buyers
Dairy giant Fonterra has initiated investor roadshows for the potential sale of its consumer brand businesses under the name Mainland Group.

The company intends to optimize returns for farmer-shareholders by selling off brands such as Anchor, Kapiti, and Mainland. With an annual revenue of $4.9 billion last year, Mainland Group is exploring either a trade sale or an initial public offering (IPO). The IPO is targeted at investors like KiwiSavers on the New Zealand Stock Exchange. Recent financial developments have seen Fonterra increase its 2025 earnings guidance, citing strong dairy prices.

The sale proposal highlights the company's extensive operations across regions like Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, with significant factory infrastructure and a robust product lineup including cheese, butter, milk, and infant formula.

Meetings led by Mainland Group executives René Dedoncker and Paul Victor will be held across New Zealand, Australia, and Asia to assess investment interest in both the trade sale and IPO options.
