The government of Buenos Aires has extended the agricultural emergency due to flooding, seeking federal support as dairy production is affected.
Floods Trigger Extension of Agricultural Emergency in Buenos Aires
The Buenos Aires provincial government has extended the agricultural emergency in several districts for up to 180 days due to severe rains and floods that have disrupted the agricultural sector. This extension aims to provide relief to the producers in the hardest-hit areas.

The floods have caused significant crop losses and have hampered livestock production, especially affecting dairy farms due to waterlogged fields. The declaration allows producers to defer the due date of the Rural Property Tax and access financing under special conditions. Furthermore, there's a call for the national government to join in the declaration, which would enable producers to access public bank credit lines at subsidized interest rates, among other fiscal benefits.

The crisis is notably severe in the southern and western municipalities of the province where water accumulation has flooded thousands of hectares, severely impacting the rural economy.
