First Milk Raises July Milk Price Amid Challenging Spring

First Milk has announced a 0.8 pence per litre increase in its milk price for July 2024. This adjustment brings the UK processor's milk price for a manufacturing standard litre to 40.3p per litre, inclusive of the member premium.
Mike Smith, Vice-Chairman of First Milk, acknowledged the challenges faced by dairy farmers this spring. "We are pleased to deliver this price increase to our members during these difficult times," he stated. "We remain committed to maximizing member returns in the coming months."
In related news, dairy processor Muller has also announced a milk price increase of 1p per litre for its farmer suppliers, effective from July. Farmers meeting the conditions of Muller's Advantage scheme will receive a milk price of 39p per litre.
