In a significant move, Fiji Cooperative Dairy Company Ltd (FCDCL) has bolstered its leadership team by appointing three new directors – Joji Ramasima, Nilesh Lakhan, and Harvindar Singh.

The elections, conducted and overseen by the Fiji Elections Office, took place during the company's 9th annual general meeting held at the Royal Event Centre in Nausori on January 31, as confirmed by an official statement from FCDCL.
Uraia Waibuta, the Chairman of FCDCL, encouraged the more than 200 dairy farmers in attendance to seize the local market's potential for milk. He emphasized the benefits for farmers, including a fixed daily price for their milk, and outlined FCDCL's commitment to providing incentives, programs, and advisory services to support farmers in increasing their milk production. This, in turn, aims to meet the rising demand for milk locally and contribute to creating sustainable incomes for farming families.
The newly appointed directors, Joji Ramasima, Nilesh Lakhan, and Harvindar Singh, will join the re-elected directors Martin Compain and Mahendar Singh, along with the Government appointees – Chairman Uraia Waibuta, Meli Tokaibai, and Noa Koroi – to form a cohesive board.
The 9th annual general meeting served as a platform for key discussions, including the acceptance and approval of the 2022 accounts. The session witnessed active participation from member farmers, with lively discussions and submissions from the floor, providing valuable insights for the board to consider in its ongoing review process.
FCDCL remains dedicated to fostering a thriving dairy industry in Fiji, and these strategic board appointments are poised to contribute significantly to the cooperative's growth and development.
