In the 11 months of 2024, butter exports from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan dropped by 30% compared to the same period in 2023. According to the National Statistics Committee, from January to November 2024, Kyrgyzstan exported 71.8 tons of butter to Uzbekistan, amounting to $190,000, whereas in 2023, the export volume was 101 tons, totaling $307,000.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s butter exports have shown growth. During the reported period in 2024, the country exported 1,957 tons of butter, valued at $10.3 million, significantly surpassing the 2023 figures of 1,284.9 tons worth $5.99 million.
Key importers of Kyrgyz butter:
- Russia: 1,210 tons ($6.68 million) compared to 930 tons ($4.52 million) in 2023.
- Kazakhstan: 675.1 tons ($3.45 million) compared to 252.6 tons ($1.15 million) in 2023.
- Uzbekistan: 71.8 tons ($190,000) compared to 101 tons ($307,000) in 2023.
Exports to other countries, such as China, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and the USA, remain minimal or non-existent.
