Authorities in Ecuador have enhanced food safety inspections, seizing over 26,000 liters of milk due to quality concerns.

In the province of Tungurahua, Ecuador, a coordinated operation led by Agrocalidad, ARCSA, the Ministry of Agriculture, and local authorities inspected and controlled 26,314 liters of raw milk. The effort aimed to ensure the safety of the country's dairy supply. Authorities found some of the milk contaminated with antibiotics, leading to its confiscation. Transport standards were emphasized, with reminders that milk must be transported in registered vehicles using stainless steel tanks. So far this year, 186,266 liters have been checked in Tungurahua, with 6,411 liters seized for containing prohibited substances. The operation is part of a broader strategy to protect consumer health and bolster confidence in the dairy supply chain, encouraging best practices among producers and transporters.
