dsm-firmenich opens innovation center in Delft with application labs for dairy
According to the company, the center will develop sugar substitutes, lactose-free products and plant-based alternatives to fish, meat and dairy. It also features a kitchen for co-creating products with customers and tasting facilities. The center will bring together more than 400 employees. It is located on the Biotech Campus Delft.
The center is named after Jacques van Marken, founder of the Yeast and Spirits Factory, which later became Gist-Brocades and was acquired by DSM in 1998. According to dsm-firmenich, the company and its predecessors have been driving food innovation in Delft since 1869, including enzymes that enable people with lactose intolerance to consume dairy products.
