Dodla Dairy Acquires Osam Dairy for Rs 271 Crore

On July 18, South India-based Dodla Dairy Ltd announced the complete acquisition of Osam Dairy, a prominent brand in the eastern states, for Rs 271 crore. This strategic acquisition leverages Osam’s strong regional footprint along with Dodla’s expertise to drive expansion in eastern markets.
“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Dodla’s journey towards becoming a pan-India dairy company. Eastern India offers faster growth potential than the national average with a large consumer base and increasing urbanisation,” stated Sunil Reddy, Managing Director of Dodla Dairy.
Founded in 2012, Osam Dairy operates mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand, and surrounding regions, sourcing milk from more than 25,000 farmers through 1,000 collection centres and 19 chilling facilities. The company processes approximately 110,000 litres of milk daily. Abhinav Shah, outgoing CEO and promoter of Osam, expressed optimism that the acquisition would fuel the company’s next growth phase.
InCred Capital served as the financial advisor in this transaction. Ashish Ambwani, Managing Director of InCred Capital, remarked, “This deal marks a landmark moment for Osam, which has carved a distinct position in eastern India’s competitive dairy sector.”
