Dmitry Patrushev: The Situation with Animal Diseases in Russian Regions Has Been Stabilized
"At the beginning of 2026, there were problems related to the spread of animal diseases in several regions, but nevertheless, the situation has now been stabilized. The dynamics of livestock production generally correspond to the level of last year. The same applies to the output of finished products," said Dmitry Patrushev.
He also emphasized that the domestic market of Russia is fully supplied with food.
The most difficult epizootic situation at the beginning of the year was observed, in particular, in the Novosibirsk region, where quarantine restrictions were introduced in several settlements due to livestock diseases.
According to the governor of the Novosibirsk region, Andrey Travnikov, the quarantine currently remains partially in place only in the village of Novoklyuchi, Kupinsky district. The restrictions are related to the need to complete disinfection measures on the territory of one of the personal subsidiary farms.
"One of the residents, the owner of a personal subsidiary farm located right in the center of the village, does not agree with the necessary disinfection measures on her plot. It even required court intervention with the help of bailiffs. All these procedures have already been completed. I hope this issue will also be resolved this week," said Andrey Travnikov.
According to him, 90 days after confirming negative test results of soil samples, farm owners will have the opportunity to acquire animals to restore the livestock population.
Previously, restrictions in the Novosibirsk region had already been lifted in the villages of Chernokurye, Novopichugovo, Kozikha, and Gnedukhino. The regional budget for 2026 provides 0.8 billion rubles to assist owners of seized animals and support municipalities in the epizootic outbreak elimination zone.
