The German Agricultural Society (DLG) has strengthened its international footprint with the acquisition of Underhill Enterprise Inc. (UEI), a leading trade fair organizer in Canada, effective immediately.
Based in Ontario, UEI is best known for organizing the Canadian Dairy XPO (CDX), the premier exhibition for the Canadian dairy industry. The acquisition is part of DLG's broader international strategy to enhance its trade fair offerings and foster global agricultural knowledge exchange, particularly in the North American market.
This acquisition marks a significant move in the expansion of DLG’s operations, with UEI now integrated into DLG North America, a newly established subsidiary based in Toronto. The management team of UEI, including its founder Jordon Underhill, will continue under DLG’s leadership to further develop the Canadian Dairy XPO and other initiatives.
Jens Kremer, managing director of DLG International, highlighted the strategic importance of this acquisition: “The acquisition of UEI and the creation of DLG North America are key milestones in our international strategy. We are committed to enhancing our offerings for North American farming professionals and facilitating global agricultural innovation through platforms like CDX."
With a decade of experience, Jordon Underhill and his team have successfully positioned CDX as the leading event for the Canadian dairy sector. The annual exhibition attracts 350 exhibitors and over 17,000 visitors, showcasing cutting-edge dairy innovations. “We are excited to continue this journey with Jordon and his team, leveraging DLG’s international expertise and networks,” Kremer added.
Looking ahead, DLG aims to further bridge the gap between North American and European agricultural markets, utilizing its extensive experience in organizing trade fairs such as EuroTier and Agritechnica. The integration of CDX into DLG’s global portfolio will provide North American dairy farmers with more access to international markets and innovations, strengthening industry ties.
As part of its North American expansion, DLG plans to launch a new dairy-focused trade fair in the U.S. in 2025. Set to take place in Burlington, Vermont, the event will serve as a vital platform for U.S. dairy farmers, showcasing technical innovations and practical farming expertise from industry leaders.
Since 2010, DLG has been actively involved in agricultural projects across North America, focusing on trade fairs, events, and industry promotion. The acquisition of UEI and the establishment of DLG North America solidify DLG's commitment to fostering global agricultural development and innovation.
