DIGAL 2026 will bring dairy producers together in Delicias
The event will be held on the Rosales–Delicias highway in the municipality of Delicias. Organisers and livestock associations from south-central Chihuahua are preparing the meeting, which is focused on technical training, business activity and discussion of issues affecting the regional dairy chain.
Participants will include dairy farmers operating at small, medium and large scales, animal-science researchers, commercial suppliers and representatives of agricultural authorities. The conference programme and specialist workshops will examine production-cost management and herd nutrition amid higher prices for forage inputs and concentrated grains.
Specialists are expected to present approaches to feed conversion and silage quality. Other subjects on the agenda include genetic improvement, reproductive management, udder health and the production of milk solids, including butterfat and protein. The programme will also address food-safety standards for raw milk.
Water sustainability and environmental management will form another part of the meeting. Panels will consider high-efficiency irrigation for forage crops, responses to heat stress and prolonged drought, and circular-bioeconomy practices in dairy operations. These practices include effluent treatment, the use of manure and anaerobic biodigesters.
The commercial exhibition will feature suppliers of agricultural machinery, mechanised and automated milking equipment, rumination-monitoring sensors, continuous-cooling systems and animal-health products. The exhibition is intended to connect farmers with suppliers and financing arrangements, while presenting precision-agriculture and precision-livestock tools for dairy operations.
DIGAL 2026 will focus on the dairy basin covering Delicias, Meoqui and Saucillo. The organisers describe the gathering as a forum for producers and other parts of the value chain to discuss farm margins, marketing arrangements and the adoption of technology in Chihuahua’s dairy sector.
