Devondale and Liddells Launch High-Protein Long-Life Milk

Saputo Dairy Australia introduced the range on 21 September 2026. It consists of Devondale High Protein Full Cream Milk and Liddells Lactose Free High Protein Full Cream Milk. The products are positioned as higher-protein alternatives within the company’s long-life milk portfolio.

Devondale’s product is sold in 1L and 200mL packs. The Liddells lactose-free version is available in a 1L format. Each 300mL serving contains 15g of protein, equivalent to 5g per 100mL. Saputo Dairy Australia said this is 50% more protein than its standard full-cream long-life milk.

The company said its regular long-life milk products contain approximately 3.2g to 3.3g of protein per 100mL. The new products are made with ultrafiltration, a process used to concentrate protein that occurs naturally in dairy milk. According to Saputo Dairy Australia, the process raises the protein level while retaining the taste, quality and versatility associated with the two brands.

Zoey Saunders, Saputo Dairy Australia’s general manager of marketing and food service, said consumers were continuing to seek convenient food and drink products with higher protein content. She described the new milk as an option designed to fit into everyday routines and said the company was responding to demand for greater choice in this format.

The products are currently available through Woolworths stores across Australia. Saputo Dairy Australia said further distribution through Coles and independent grocery retailers was planned for the coming months. The company produces and distributes dairy and non-dairy products, including fluid milk, extended-shelf-life milk, cream, cheese, cultured products and dairy ingredients, for Australian and international markets. It is part of Saputo Inc., which the company describes as one of the world’s ten largest dairy processors.
