In a testament to the strong alliance between New Delhi and Copenhagen, Danish Ambassador to India, Freddy Svane, emphasized the potential for collaboration in the dairy sector. As part of the green strategic partnership, Denmark is establishing a Center of Excellence in Himachal Pradesh to further explore opportunities in dairy production.
Denmark and India Forge Green Partnership in Dairy Industry
The Danish envoy highlighted Denmark's historical involvement in India's dairy industry, dating back to the White Revolution. Under the green strategic partnership, new cooperative efforts are underway, including the establishment of a center of excellence in Himachal Pradesh, where Danish expertise will be utilized.

Svane expressed Denmark's commitment to sharing skills and competencies from both the public and private sectors with New Delhi. The green partnership extends to collaborations with major industry players such as Amul, ITC, Hansen India, Parag, and Milky Mist.

Applauding India's farming industry progress, the envoy raised a toast to farmers, consumers, and producers, envisioning a greener and healthier world. He encouraged India to join hands with Denmark for a mutually beneficial partnership, echoing the sentiments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The green strategic partnership between India and Denmark, established in 2020, focuses on leveraging Danish skills for India's green transition. The collaboration encompasses various sectors, with a specific emphasis on applying these skills in dairy and farming. The partnership, initiated during a virtual summit in September 2020, has catalyzed enhanced cooperation between the two nations, consolidating existing agreements and fostering new joint initiatives, including the Center of Excellence on Dairy.
