David Protein Enters the RTD Market with Protein Milkshakes

David Protein has launched its inaugural line of ready-to-drink (RTD) protein milkshakes, marking its entry into the rapidly growing category. The new milkshakes come in two flavors: Vanilla, which contains 140 calories, and Chocolate, with 150 calories. Both variants provide 30g of protein per 12oz bottle and include less than 1g of sugar.

The company aims to position these milkshakes as high-protein alternatives to traditional milkshakes, emphasizing a thick and creamy texture that offers indulgence with substantial protein content. This move is part of David Protein's broader strategy to expand beyond its initial protein bar offerings.

Previously, David Protein introduced a line of frozen desserts in June, each pint offering 30g of protein and 210 to 260 calories with minimal sugar content. The existing bar products, including David Gold and David Bronze bars, offer protein contents of 28g and 20g respectively, for 150 calories each.

The milkshake line was officially launched on September 8 through David's website and select stores in New York City. Their entry into the RTD segment reflects a growing trend where protein beverages are moving into mainstream occasions such as breakfast and everyday snacking.

This development follows a broader industry trend where brands are seeking to create convenient and nutritionally beneficial beverage options that align with popular eating and drinking preferences.
