Danone in China has released “Little One” for the elderly – Fortimel Balanced

The launch is part of Danone's strategy in China to leverage its scientific expertise across the entire spectrum of life and further accelerate the development of medical nutrition for adults. The product was developed to help China's aging population, which is experiencing an increase in chronic diseases, making it increasingly important to provide adequate nutritional care, especially for those who have been discharged from hospital.
Danone says that after hospital discharge, medical nutrition such as Fortimel can help reduce the risk of malnutrition, when nutritional needs cannot be met through regular food alone.
The dairy giant already provides its tube feeding products Nutrison and Peptisorb for patients who are unable to eat or swallow normally due to a condition or illness in 90% of top-tier hospitals in China.
To succeed in this new category in China, Danone conducted in-depth research into the eating habits and taste preferences of Chinese patients. This month, red date, goji berry and milk flavors will be available, tailored to Chinese taste preferences.
