Azymat Romazanov, Director of Corporate Affairs for Danone in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Mongolia, also took part in the meeting.

During the negotiations, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Danone Berkut, aimed at implementing joint projects in the field of dairy processing. The document outlines cooperation to improve technological processing capabilities, increase export potential, and strengthen Kazakhstan’s food security.

Currently, the Danone plant in the Almaty region produces 18,000 tons of dairy products annually, one-third of which is exported to Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Mongolia. In 2025–2026, the company plans to invest €6 million in the expansion and modernization of its production facilities. Upon completion of the project, annual production volume is expected to reach 40,000 tons.

Over the past three years, the plant has already undergone the first phase of modernization, with investments of 1.47 billion tenge enabling a 63% increase in productivity.

According to Azymat Romazanov, the upcoming modernization will expand Danone’s product range and logistics capabilities. By 2027, the company aims to double exports to Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Mongolia, and also begin shipments to China and the Middle East.

“We welcome Danone’s investment plans to expand production capacity, launch new lines, and modernize technological processes. The Ministry is ready to provide comprehensive support. I am confident that the implementation of this project will strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a reliable supplier of dairy products to Asian and Middle Eastern countries,” emphasized Aidarbek Saparov.
