This partnership aims to enhance early detection of IDA among children across the city, supporting Bangkok’s comprehensive health screening initiative. The non-invasive screening tools will enable easier, faster access to testing, playing a crucial role in preventing the long-term effects of IDA on children’s health and development.

This initiative aligns with Danone’s global “One Planet. One Health” vision, underscoring the company's commitment to promoting public health through strategic collaborations. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 24.9% of Thai children aged 6 to 59 months are affected by anaemia. Early detection of IDA is essential in mitigating potential impacts on brain development, immunity, and physical growth.

Danone has supplied BMA with screening tools to support the testing of 3,000 children, a number that reflects the increase in Bangkok’s birthrate, which rose from 82,169 births in 2022 to 85,582 in 2023. This contribution exemplifies Danone Thailand’s dedication to addressing IDA in children and fostering improved health outcomes for the country’s younger generation.

“Danone is committed to raising awareness and expanding access to IDA screenings. By providing these non-invasive tools to BMA, we ensure that children receive timely screening and intervention, helping to prevent both short- and long-term effects of IDA,” said Danish Rahman, General Manager, Southeast Asia and ISEA Lead at Danone SEA. “Our collaboration with BMA reflects our ongoing mission to improve health and nutrition in Thailand, furthering our global One Health agenda.”

Duangporn Pinjeesekikul, Deputy Director of BMA’s Health Department, praised the collaboration, noting the importance of early screening in protecting child health. “We are thrilled to partner with Danone Thailand on this critical health initiative. Integrating non-invasive IDA screening tools into our health check programs enables us to proactively safeguard the health of Bangkok’s children, contributing to a healthier future for our community,” she said.
